President’s Message:

“I was too young to remember but as the story goes, when the back yard of our new house was being graded, my father instructed the crew to dump some rocks and boulders in one spot. Hence, the rock garden was created and filled with prize winning Iris and “Wendy”, a small working fountain soon came to stay. Now we’re on the Darien Garden Club list of annual tours. I haven’t even touched on the dazzling roses everywhere and the indestructible gardenia plant that was the source of continuous homemade corsages for the lady teachers of my siblings and I. I feel that the art of magnificent gardening is a two way street; taking the club into your gardens (personal or community) and bringing your gardens into the club. I hope to keep the energy and lore of gardening alive and well here in Naugatuck.”
